Through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Inclusive Health was designated in North Carolina to administer the Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan or PCIP. Known here as the Inclusive Health - Federal Option, NC targets individuals that have a pre-existing condition and have been uninsured for at least six months. How Can Hospitals Help Inclusive Health to Reach the Uninsured?
A hospital can assist Inclusive Health to reach the self pay patients in two ways:
A hospital can send the informational flyer in a mailer to all self pay patients. The flyer gives information on Inclusive Health and directs an individual to the Inclusive Health website or to call the Customer Service Center for more information.
A hospital can assist by setting up an Enrollment Event at your hospital for Inclusive Health. This will allow agents to provide individuals with information on the Inclusive Health options, to get a quote for coverage and to have assistance in filling out an application for coverage.
